Based in the North East of England, I provide business advice and training within the community and voluntary sector.
I have over 17 years management and financial experience within the public, private and voluntary sectors, over 10 years experience working within the voluntary sector both running and developing community enterprises and have run a small business for the last 15 years.
I can either conduct an independent review, producing a report for an organisation or I can work with stakeholders, providing the structure and training to enable organisations to write their own plans and strategies.
I work with organisations to examine their practices, decision making processes and to improve their organisational performance. I also provide advice around developing appropriate organisational structures for the community and voluntary sector, networking and developing partnership working.
I work with Social Enterprises, Charitable Trusts and Community Groups to identify funding sources, write funding strategies and complete funding applications. I also help organisations to produce budgets, manage accounts and develop cash flow forecasts.
I have a broad range of experience in planning and facilitating events working across a wide range of issues from Health, Housing and the Environment and with a wide range of communities of identity and interest. I have particular experience in facilitating partnership working and managing conflict.
I provide a community consultation service, deliver consultation events, produce written reports and provide recommendations across a wide range of issues including regeneration, health and community capacity building.
I have designed and delivered training around a wide range of skills, including community involvement, community development and good business practice. I work with organisations to develop specific training packages for staff and volunteers, when existing training courses are not appropriate.
